Young people from London Youth’s Youth Board, Spotlight Youth Club, Partnership for Young London, the Mayor of London’s POW team, Barnardo’s Harrow Horizons Youth Panel, and NHS Children and Young People’s Transformation Programme have come together to amplify young people’s voices in their health decisions and choices.
We know that Children and Young People are involved in shaping decisions and choices by having their voices at the heart of all health decisions. It can help optimise their physical health and wellbeing and lead to improved outcomes, better social connections, reduced isolation and loneliness.
In the 2021 Care Quality Commission National CYP inpatient survey showed that only 47% of children and young people surveyed said they’d been involved in decisions about their care.
How can we shift this to 95%?
How can we co-create focused approaches to empower children and young people through knowledge, skills and confidence development to aid them in navigating, accessing and utilising health based resources in the best way possible?
We are looking for young people from across London to join us on Thursday 28th July (5pm – 8pm) at Spotlight Youth Club, 30 Hay Currie St, E14 6N to co-create a Shared Decision Making in Health campaign. Pizza will be provided on the evening.
