“It really brought the boys from the Island together.” We met Iyaazul under his block one day and he’s gone to big heights since.

We’re sharing Iyaazul’s powerful story – how one young person grew a new community for London’s youth.

That was just the beginning of Iyaazul’s passion for youth work– he has now taken a huge step forward by deciding to study Youth Work as an undergraduate at Goldsmiths University. And he’s transformed from a Spotlight volunteer to a member of staff with Team Spotlight.

Iyaazul’s story is the is the power of youth work to bring young people together. His vision with Spotlight’s support has helped change his community for the better, and he continues to do so as a youth worker at Spotlight:

“Without my youth worker (Iyaazul), I would not have been involved with my youth centre and get into trouble outside. I have gained so much thanks to him”. T, 15 years old.
