Thinking of being a Young Volunteer? Read this – Power of Youth Day

The Power of Youth Day celebrates and recognises the impact of young people.

This year we’re joining the I Will Movement to uplift young people to #BethatPerson who empowered them when they were young.

What is a young volunteer?

A voung volunteer is generally a 16 – 17 year old giving their time to support good causes, social action, or the community.

There are many ways you can become a youth volunteer:

    • Work experience placement, that you would organise in collaboration with your school and local organisations.
    • Local charities / Good Causes, See more on VolunteerNow or connect with your local council’s volunteer centre.
    • Digital / Online volunteering, such as helping with admin, helpline support roles, and more.

You can gain so much by volunteering as a young person by..

  • making a REAL difference to a cause, individuals or an organisation. In line with what you are passionate about as a future career or just close to your heart.
  • You’ll meet new people and build a network
  • Gain new skills and enhance the ones you already have – you might also learn something new about yourself.
  • Boosting your CV, UCAS and employability

#BeThatPerson starts here.
