The Golden tone of Pop Soul Artist Onosé Shines on The Voice with emotional Performance of “Chasing Cars”

Neo-Soul artist Onosé, known for his golden vocal tones, wowed audiences with his emotional rendition of “Chasing Cars” by Snow Patrol on The Voice UK 2024. His heartfelt performance earned praise from 3 judges, and the fans. A huge milestone in his emerging music career. 

But behind his success is a story of perseverance and support from a place close to his heart: Spotlight – Creative Youth Space in Tower Hamlets, London.

We’ve worked with him since 2020, and witnessed his growth from a young musician into a rising star. He joined the community through the Music Survival online programme, run in collaboration with Apple Music. We have continued to be a key part of his musical journey ever since.

Onosé’s dedication to his craft has been inspiring. To see him shine on such a massive stage like The Voice is something we’re incredibly proud of at Spotlight.

We have been thrilled to watch along and celebrate Onosé’s big stage debut! Our youth workers and community have been emotionally watching along at Spotlight and at home. 

From Spotlight Sounds to The Voice UK

Onosé’s journey didn’t stop with the Music Survival programme. In 2021, he participated in the Music Revival programme, followed by the Creative Studio LDN.

Through these programmes, Onosé honed his skills, performing at events and eventually releasing his debut single, Tears Won’t Come, on Apple Music and other streaming platforms in November 2022.

Spotlight Sounds, our artist development programme designed to nurture the young talent of 16 – 19 year olds, played a pivotal role in supporting Onosé. As a member of the group from 2022-2023, Onosé shared the stories behind his lyrics in special behind-the-scenes interview. Watch his candid reflections on his journey and single here.

Giving Back to the Community

Onosé’s rise is not just about his personal success—he remains deeply connected to the community that nurtured him. Today, he volunteers at Spotlight’s music studio, mentoring the next generation of musicians. Whether he’s helping young artists find their voice or guiding them through their first recording sessions. His volunteer work is inspiring other young people to follow in his footsteps.
