All participants will receive a personal action plan to enable them to achieve their goals and complete the 6 weeks Get Involved Community Activator training. On completion of the programme, participants will gain a nationally recognised Central YMCA Level 2 Community Activator accreditation and a Basic First Aid qualification.

Participants will be supported to become more physically and socially active within their community, with the aim to become more emotionally and economically resilient, socially and physically active and develop more resilience and determination to overcome challenges, which will support a positive transition to adulthood.

During the programme you will:

  • Improve your confidence and self-esteem
  • Meet new friends
  • Increase your opportunities
  • Support your community

To become a Get Involved Community Activator you must:

  • Be aged between 16 and 21 years old
  • Live in Tower Hamlets
  • Be able to attend a 6-week training programme (one day a week)
  • Be able to attend group and one-to-one mentoring sessions
  • Maintain a positive and responsible approach to supporting yourself to access social and physical activities within your community
