Radio Training 2017

East London’s premier festival Lovebox and the voice of young London Reprezent are supporting the creative potential of young adults in East London by launching an exciting new training and live experience initiative this month.

REPREZENT and LOVEBOX will run a free 12-week full training initiative at Spotlight to train & develop tomorrow’s rising music stars from the Tower Hamlets area to be the sound of East London. No prior experience is required, just lots of enthusiasm! Free training improves peoples’ communications skills, nurtures talent and enables individuals to create radio programmes and features. With mentoring from previous trainees and industry professionals this means many can go on to careers and positive futures within music.

On successful completion of the training, trainees have the opportunity to join the London broadcast team and create radio content, whilst continuing to develop their skills. Trainees also get the chance to take part in on-going promotional activities with the radio station & Lovebox that will include assisting the live backstage broadcast from Lovebox 2017!

Reprezent broadcasts live from POP Brixton on FM, DAB, online, and via their app. With a focus on supporting the next generation of talent, the average age of their presenters is nineteen years old. Since gaining a full FM licence in 2011, Reprezent has gone from strength from strength, providing a unique, highly coveted and truly genuine perspective on youth culture. Previous REPREZENT alumni include 1Xtra DJ Jamz Supernova, BBC Asian Network’s Mim Shaikh, Stormzy, Novelist and Lady Leshurr, to name a few.

This year’s chapter of Lovebox is set to be even more special than usual. East London’s favourite festival are celebrating their 15 year anniversary – 15 years of music, 15 years of good vibes and 15 years of love.

This year headlined by Frank Ocean and Chase & Status, Lovebox plays host to an eclectic billing – spanning genres from grime to house and hip hop – featuring legends and the hottest new acts alike, not to mention plenty of mischief to make and hidden corners to explore.

To apply for the free 12-week full training programme candidates must email  info@reprezent.org.uk a 60 second video or 100+ words showing a little bit about themselves/their skills and interests; what excites them about radio and working with us at Lovebox 2017- closing date is Friday 21st April.
