We’ve gathered together all the latest opportunities for young people out there to help you pick up a job, gain new skills and enhance your CV:

 

New Opportunities for young people:

Are you 16-25 and want help breaking into the creative industries? Creative Mentor Network are matching young creatives from low socio-economic backgrounds with professional mentors on a 16 week mentoring programme. Mentors ranging from Creative Directors to Senior Strategists will support your journey and help you learn more about the industry.

MAMA Youth Project is recruiting for a FREE six weeks full time Digital Media Training programme! Trainees gain six weeks of intensive digital media training, followed by minimum of 2 weeks paid work placement with an industry partners (including Sky, Banijay, Netflix, Channel 4, Warner Bros Entertainment, Lime Pictures, Fremantle Media, Sister, Gravity Media and many more).

Open to 18-25s living in the boroughs of Barnet, Brent, Camden, Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, Harrow, Kensington & Chelsea and the Cities of London and Westminster ONLY.

CONNECME2 are currently offering FREE training to young people aged 16-24 who are not in education, employment or training in Construction and preparation for work. This three week online bootcamp will help you meet industry trade professionals, learn about what it takes to get into the construction industry and get your Health and Safety in Construction qualification.

YUAF are running free online courses in Drama, Singing/Songwriting and Music Production workshops next month. Courses are open to young people age 13-19 and run from Wednesday 3rd November to Thursday 25th November and run at 5pm (drop in) and 7pm (advanced). 

Interested in community journalism and want to write about sustainable living with a Tower Hamlets twist? The Thrifty & Thriving project is your chance to work as part of a small group to create a magazine-style guide to living well for less in the East End. This is your chance to be fashion editor, a food critic, a culture correspondent or a green eco-expert for a few weeks!

The project runs on seven Wednesday mornings, from 10.00am to 1.00pm, between 3rd Nov and 15th Dec at Oxford House in Bethnal Green.

Our friends over at Headliners have launched a Community Leaders Programme for young women and non-binary people age 16-25, not in employment, education or training and interested in journalism and creative digital media.  This is a chance to learn the tools to run creative projects and make a change in your community. Participants will receive industry insight, mentoring, support in next career steps and more.

The programme is open to residents of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Tower Hamlets and runs for 12 weeks over June – August 2022. Travel expenses and lunch will be covered.
